Since the past 4 weeks have been an insanely busy time in my life, I haven’t had a good amount of time out for myself. But there were a few really special moments and things I found and absolutely loved during the month of September – so I thought a monthly favorites was necessary!
My 21st Birthday:
So, as some of you would know from my last post – September was my 21st birthday month and I had the most incredible day! A super relaxed, day at home being completely spoilt by my family was such a treat, especially since my birthday was at a time where my university timetable was so hectic! But I got some really beautiful gifts and had the most lovely time! (You can read a more detailed recollection in my birthday post!)
“Moro Gelato” is a gelatoria on Long Street in Cape Town (they also have the most beautiful, gleaming stall at the Oranjezicht Market). Me, being a dedicated lover of all things frozen and sweet, had to try their gelato! We got the pistachio and the Marchese (Tahitian Vanilla with Macadamia Nuts and Caramalised Almonds) and it was, by far, the most delicious gelato I have ever tasted! (Even my boyfriend, having just come back from Italy, couldn’t have agreed more) So, if you’re ever in Cape Town, you have to swing past their store and give it a try – especially now that the weathers warming up, theres even more reason for a frozen treat!
Le Creuset “Sorbet” Range:
Although, I haven’t managed to get my mitts on a piece from this range just yet – I can’t help but admire from afar! The new “Sorbet” Collection from Le Creuset is so fresh and beautifully summery and they’re bound to bring some sunny brightness to your kitchen! All the pieces come in ethereal pastel colours from light, dusty pink to duck-egg blue – ready to compliment any summer pool party or spring garden brunch. I think they’re insanely pretty and would make a beautiful gift to anyone, or even just as a little treat to yourself!
Elizabeth Arden “White Tea” Fragrance:
I have always been a fan of very fresh, floral, verging on masculine scents and this one ticked all the boxes for me! A light everyday scent, perfect for the upcoming warmer months – I use it every morning and have received so many compliments about it over the past few weeks I’ve been wearing it. Also, in comparison to my other usuals Bvlgari’s “Omnia” and Chloe “Roses”, White Tea is half the price – being a super affordable everyday scent (that you won’t feel bad practically bathing yourself in!).
This past September I’ve loved the convenience of having a little bag of bliss balls in my handbag, as a snack or to fill the void of a missed lunch! Bliss balls are basically, healthy, elevated versions of the ever popular, date balls – that you can make or buy in a variety of different flavours. My September fave, were coconut and cranberry flavoured, that I picked up from my favorite health cafe “All Things Good” in Stellenbosch! But they are more than easy to make, in fact, I’ll be posting a recipe on my blog later this week, so you can make your own!
